Manuel Martinez

Manuel Hernandez Martinez, 36, of Elgin passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020.  Manuel was born in Austin, to Aurora “Lola” Hernandez and Marcelo Martinez, on July 23, 1984.  He is preceded in death by his stepdad, Ramiro Hernandez; baby sister, Marisa Hernandez; maternal grandfather, Ralph Hernandez, Sr.; paternal grandfather, Marcel Martinez, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Guadalupe and Felicita Hernandez.  Manuel leaves to cherish his memory his mother and stepfather, Aurora and Miguel Castillo; his three children, Manuel, Jr. and Adrian, and Lillyana Martinez; two brothers, Mark Martinez and wife Sindy and Michael Martinez and wife Laura; two sisters, Aleshia and husband Carlos Reyes and Marisa Hernandez; maternal grandmother, Juanita Hernandez; paternal grandmother, Geneva Martinez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

His casket will lie in state at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elgin, Sunday, July 26th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.  A Celebration of Christian Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monday, July 27th at 10:00 AM with Father George presiding.  Christian Burial will follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
