Winnie Bradshaw Milligan was born on September 7, 1906 in Lee County.Winnie was united in marriage to Andrew Milligan in 1922, to this union thirteen children were born.She was also proclaimed as one of the oldest living AfricanAmerican women in Elgin, TX.She was known to all as Mama Winnie, not only just to her family. They say it takes a village to raise one child Mama was that village to more than just one and always had a beautiful smile. Mama Winnie loved taking care of her grandchildren and she loved working outside in her flower and vegetable garden.Preceding her in death, her husband Andrew Sr. one daughter, Ida Mae Brown nine sons, Ordale Milligan, Milton Milligan, R. L. Milligan, Frank Milligan, B. J. Milligan, O. C. Milligan, Andrew Milligan Jr., Lee Morse Milligan, and E. J. Milligan.She leaves behind to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, three sons, Elroy Milligan, Lee Roy Milligan Mary, Clifford Milligan all of Elgin and Joyce Milligan Green daughtergranddaughter of Austin, 26 grandchildren, 54 greatgrandchildren, and 7 greatgreatgrandchildren.Mama Winnie was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed by all.
