Willouise T. Urban, affectionately known as "MiMi," was a cherished soul who graced this world with her presence for 83 beautiful years. She passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that touched everyone who knew her. Born on October 17, 1941, in Liberty Hill, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of T.B. and Minnie Turner.
MiMi is reunited in spirit with Tinker Urban, her parents T.B. and Minnie, and her dear brother-in-law, Barry Cooper. Her loving memory lives on through her cherished children, Ralph David Glass (Kathie) and Brenda LeNorman (Terry); along with seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, Danny Glass (Alyson) with Ruston and Braxton, Amanda Mercer (MC) with Mabel, Dallas Glass (Kayla) with Rush, Boston, and London, Dillon Glass, Dustin LeNorman (Dana) with Tatum and Teagan, Ryan LeNorman (Laci) with Keaton, Luke, and Dutton, and Caleb LeNorman (Nicole); her extended family, including John Urban (Amy), Jay Urban (Lacy) with Aiden and Chase, and Chris Urban; along with sisters, Sandy Massey and Sue Cooper; brothers, Thomas Turner (Beth) and Ricky Turner (Diane), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Throughout her life, MiMi embodied a spirit of hard work and dedication. Her passions included farming, ranching, accounting, sewing, and, most notably, cooking and baking. After years of service, she retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, but the richness of her life extended far beyond her professional accomplishments.
MiMi's heart was largest when it came to her family. Her love for the Lord and the joy she found in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her immense happiness. Her grandkids relished her famous dishes, from SOS (meat & gravy on bread) to fried eggs, pancakes with homemade syrup, egg custard pie, delightful milkshakes, and scrumptious brownies. Each grandchild received unconditional love, special belly rubs, and back scratches, making every visit a cherished memory.
As we celebrate the life of this remarkable lady, family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Friday, February 7th from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM. In our hearts, MiMi will forever be remembered as a guiding light, a provider of comfort, and a source of unwavering love.
