William E. Hall, Jr.

August 14, 1956 — February 2, 2025

Elgin, Texas

William Edward Hall, Jr., a cherished member of our community, peacefully passed away on Sunday evening, February 2, 2025, at the age of 68, after his courageous second battle with cancer. His journey began in Austin, Texas, on August 14, 1956, where he spent his formative years before moving to a beloved farm in Elgin.

Throughout his life, Jr. dedicated himself to work that often brought him close to nature, mowing grass along highways across Austin and much of Texas. He also lent his hands to new home preparation, bringing a sense of tidiness and care to construction sites. In his quieter moments, he found solace in the serene environment of Turkey Bend, where he loved to fish and soak in the tranquility.

He embraced a variety of hobbies that reflected his vibrant personality. His passion for collecting toy tractors, cars, and trucks transformed his home into a mini museum, showcasing his fondness for these cherished items. He was also an avid woodworker, creating beautiful pieces for his yard or for family, especially his great-nieces and nephews. Gardening was another love, and springtime brought family together as they tended to the earth, with the little ones eagerly helping out.

Family gatherings were always a joy for William, particularly his delightful interactions with his great-great-nieces and nephews, whom he delighted in spoiling. He had a soft spot for music, often reminiscing about the days when Koke FM played gospel and classic country, which filled his Sundays with warmth and nostalgia.

William is preceded in death by his devoted parents, William E. Hall Sr. and Mamie Helen, as well as his sister, Kathryn Ann Hall and brother Christopher Nad Hall.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his siblings, Steve Hall and wife Maggie, Linda K. Hoover, Randy Hall and wife Viola, and Norman Hall. He will be missed dearly by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

In honor of his memory, the family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Church of Christ of Elgin, a place that held significance in his heart.

William Edward Hall, Jr. will be remembered for his kind spirit, love for family, and the joy he brought to everyone's lives. His absence will be felt deeply, but his legacy of love, care, and community will forever be a source of inspiration.

A Graveside Service will be held at Smithwick Cemetery on Thursday, February 13th, at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow.
