We knew little that morning that God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home…
Wendell Bernard Jones, Sr ., better known as Buck Jones of Taylor, Texas, was born to Claus Jones and Ethel Lee Hoodye on March 26, 1961, in Taylor, Texas. Wendell was a long-life time resident of Taylor, from his childhood, being active in school and community, until his adulthood, working hard to provide for his family, all in Taylor, Texas. Buck attended the public schools of the Taylor district and graduated from Taylor High School. Buck attended First Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age.
Wendell met his wife, Patricia, at age 14, and falling in love as teenagers they were united in marriage at age 17. They have been inseparable for thirty-five years. They were abundantly blessed to have raised ten children, five girls and five boys. They were beautiful and proud parents.
Buck was a father that loved his children, his family, and friends. Everyone knew him to be kind and a help to those in need. Buck never complained about anything in life but took everything in stride. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and showed kindness everywhere he went. Wendell retired from Railroad Express after thirty years of employment. Wendell loved fishing, working on cars, his motorcycles, playing with his grandchildren and spending, ‘me time’ with his wife.
Wendell, a God-fearing man, was called from labor to rest on March 20, 2018. Waiting in heaven for Buck’s arrival are his parents, three brothers, one sister, and his son, Kelly.
Buck Jones of Taylor, Texas legacy will be cherished by his faithful wife, Patricia; his children: Latasha, Lathesa, Bernard, Destiny, Michael, Lisa, Wendell Jr., Patrick, and Christina; three amazing sisters: Lizzie, Claudie, and Essie; his precious grandchildren, (who could do no wrong) nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
