Vicky Lopez Gonzalez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vicky Lopez Gonzalez, who left us peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 53. Born to Santos Alderete and Rosario Lopez in Taylor, Texas, Vicky lived a life filled with love and dedication.

Vicky was a beacon of light in the lives of her family, devoting herself wholeheartedly to raising her beloved nieces and nephews, whom she cherished as her own. Her vibrant spirit shone through in her passions—she found joy in dancing, relished the rhythms of music, and extended her heart to others in countless ways, including caring for her mother during her final days.

She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Rosario Lopez, as well as other cherished family members, including her maternal and paternal grandparents, uncles, and her grandson, Eshmell Mendez. Vicky's legacy of love and strength will continue through those she leaves behind: her father, Santos Alderete; her son, John Araujo; her beloved siblings, Guillermina Martinez, Juan Martinez, Terry Mendez, Santos Alderete Jr., Augustine Alderete, Anna Stanley, Brianca Warren, and Ezequiel Alderete; as well as her five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Vicky’s compassion and zest for life touched everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed. As we remember and celebrate her life, let us honor the love she shared and the joy she brought into our world.

She will lie In State at Elgin Funeral Home on Friday, April 4th from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Family and Friends will gather from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Remembrance Virgil will be held at 7:30 PM. Inurnment will be private
