Velma Lousie Wilson Foehner was born September 12, 1924 in Elgin, Texas to Chester Turner and Vonnie Plemmons Wilson. She passed away, Friday, August 8, 2014.Louise attended Elgin schools graduating in 1942. On February 5, 1943 she married Wayland Foehner. This union would span 59 years, 8 months and 13 days ending with Waylands death on October 18, 2002. They were blessed with the births of two children, James Larry in 1946 and Janice Kay in 1951.Louise professed her belief in Christ at an early age. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Elgin where she sang in choir, taught Sunday school, rocked babies in the nursery, served on hostess committees and was a regular member of SAC Senior Adult Club. In later years she attended Family Worship Center.Louise spent her adult life working in various venues. She worked in a dry goods store, Elgin Insurance Agency and as an insurance representative as well as hospital administrator at Fleming Memorial Hospital. While at the hospital, you could find her helping count pills in the pharmacy, registering patients for their doctor visits and any job that came along. Whenever an emergency would occur in the community she served countless hours to give aid and often comfort to family members.Louise was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, her husband and dear friends Gladys Snowden and Fay Carter.She is survived by brother, James Wilson Pat of Albuquerque, New Mexico son Larry Foehner Carole daughter Janice Foehner of Elgin grandsons Matthew Kim of Elgin and Clint Foehner Tara and great granddaughter, Lillie of Luling and sisterinlaw Ruby Creel of Elgin. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. She was affectionately known as Nanny to all.The family wishes to thank Dr. Kenneth Sherman and Dr. Charles Moore, Marilyn Ruiz, Scott Blois, Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Austin Hospice for their continued care of Louise over the last few years.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Worship Center building fund or the charity of your choice.Please join the family in a celebration of Louises life at the Family Worship Center on Tuesday, August 12th at 6:00 PM.
