Shirley Regina Milligan began her life’s journey on December 8, 1963 in Austin, Texas. She was born to the union of Sadie & Dennis Milligan, Sr. Growing up, she loved playing childhood games such as Jacks and Hopscotch as well as spending time with her siblings. Shirley was baptized at Eastside Baptist Church and attend Lanier High School in Austin, Texas.
On April 14, 2022, Almighty God, through His infinite wisdom, dispatched an angel to carry Shirley to her enternal rest. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sadie Milligan; father, Dennis Milligan, Sr.; brother , Gerald Milligan; and nephew, Jerrell Davidson.
Shirley leaves to cherish her beautiful memories to her two daughters, Shannon “Shay” Castelan (Alex) & Lue’Shay “Sonya” Ward (Troy) of Austin, both of who will continue to uphold her legacy of family and love. To comfort her girls, as they celebrate her precious memories she leaves her siblings four loving brothers, Dennis Milligan, Jr. (Andrea), Charles Milligan, Robert Milligan and Harold Milligan; and three adoring sisters, Latresia Milligan, Audrey Dennis (Joshua) and Wendy. In life, Shirley was blessed to have her grandchildren, Christalyn Ward, Alexia Castelan, Alexavier Castelan, Kamaris Ward, and Troy Hunter and embraced grandchildren, Alexis Castelan and Alex Castelan, Jr., Shirley also had the honor of becoming a great grandmother of a beautiful great granddaughter, Ale’Shay Andrews. Shirley was a family favorite among many cousins and friends and was also a loving aunt to may nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Elgin Funeral Home, Friday, April 29th at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be private.
