Sheryl Mackillop

Sheryl “Sheri Mac” Lynn Mackillop passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Sheri was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 30, 1956, to Albert “Bud” Nielsen, Jr. and Dorene (Sortino) Dineen.

Sheri worked for the City of Elgin for 12 years and committed her whole life to volunteering and helping others. Sheri was a devoted mother and grandmother, who reveled in the chance to spend time with her grandchildren and children.

Sheri was preceded in death by her father, Albert “Bud” Nielsen, Jr. and her maternal grandparents, Antonio Sebastian and Vivian Kathryn Sortino.

She is survived by her two daughters, Skylar Nichole Allen and husband Harper Tuck and Falon Brianne MacKillop; her mother, Dorene (Sortino) Dineen; her two siblings Richard Clark Nielsen and Cynthia Marie (Nielsen) and husband Chris Gillilan; her five beloved grandchildren; two nephews and a niece; and many more cherished family members.
