Sherri Marie Smith (Calhoun)

It is with deep sorrow that announce the passing of Sherri Marie (Calhoun) Smith, age 35, of Manor, Texas, left us on September 20, 2024.

Born on October 14, 1988, in Austin, Texas, Sherri was a cherished daughter to Michael Roy Calhoun and Ingrid Dana Turman. She proudly graduated from Manor High School in the Class of 2007, where she made countless lasting memories.

Sherri found immeasurable joy in her role as a loving wife to Joseph "Joey" Michael Smith and as a devoted mother to her three beautiful daughters: Emma Ray (10), Lana Marie (7), and Linda Ann (5). Her family was her greatest treasure, and she loved every moment spent with them, particularly through cooking, crafting, and outdoor adventures such as gardening and caring for her chickens.

Sherri was preceded in death by her beloved Nene, Merlene Evelyn Turman.

Sherri is survived by her beloved husband and children and a close-knit family that includes her father, Mike Calhoun and his wife, Shelby, and her mother, Ingrid and David Hutchinson; her siblings, Michael Calhoun, Penny Sommer, Chevy Calhoun, Cheyanne Calhoun, Daniel Cheatham, Johnathon Kelley, Brandon Kelley, and Brittany Kelley. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandparents—Nanny (Linda Calhoun), Paw Paw (James Calhoun), Grandpappy (Tom Turman), and Nana (Carolyn Turman)—along with her cherished nieces and nephews: Maison, Kanin, Addison, Waylin, Liam, Landen, and Logan, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who held her dear.  Her warmth, creativity, and unwavering dedication to her family will be profoundly missed. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home, on Saturday, September 28th, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  A Celebration of Sherri's Life will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor Garland Moffett presiding.
