S. H. McShan, Jr. affectionately known as Junior, was called home by his Lord God on Friday, May 17, 2013. He began this lifes journey on December 19, 1954, when he was born the only son to S. H. McShan, Sr. and Mattie Bell Fuller McShan in Elgin, Texas. In 1979, he married Donna Jean Woods and together, this union was born three children. In 1989, he married Mary Margret Fusilier, and to this union no children were born.Junior was baptized on July 1967, by the Reverend, Pascal Townsend at the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, where he began his journey with Christ. Later in life, he united with the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Byron Green, where he worshiped. Junior had a passion for music and loved singing Gods praises he also served as a musician for several churches in the Bastrop and Williamson County area. Junior attended Washington High School and graduated from Elgin High School in 1972. He attended Tyler Junior College and Blinn Junior College before graduating from Sam Houston State University on August 14, 1976, where he received his Bachelors of Business Administration. Junior was employed by the State of Texas and the States Prison System for many years until his retirement.On Friday, May 17, 2013, the Lord GOD called his name and called his child home. Junior was preceded in death by his first wife Donna Jean WoodsMcShan and his daughter Shiffonet Dawnelle McShan.Junior leaves to this life his only son and daughter, Chadle McShan and Lorrenya Harris his two granddaughters, Milana and Miliyah Harris both his parents, Mattie and S. H. McShan, Sr. maternal grandmother, Hattie Fuller his sister, Theresa McShan a niece, Tomea and husband Herbert Walker a nephew, Terrance McDowell and wife Krystl three greatnephews, DeAnthony Moore, Tyreen McDowell, and Treyjon McDowell one greatniece, Zoriah Walker and hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Junior will always be remembered for the great times spent with family and friends sitting around telling jokes and keeping everyone laughing.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 22nd. A Home Going Celebration will be conducted at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church under the auspices of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 23rd with the Reverends Green and Loggins presiding. Interment will follow at the McShan Memorial Gardens.
