Russell Dale Botkin, son of Sandra Grady Cole and late Carl Botkin, died suddenly on Monday, June 23, 2021, at the age of 46. Russell was born in Taylor, Texas and lived his life in Elgin and surrounding central communities.
Russell graduated from Elgin High School in 93’ and stood out in football and track. Russell was a successful truck driver and usually hauled vehicles or large equipment. He loved being outside on the road whether it was inside a truck or on a motorcycle. Growing up Russell enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family and close friends.
Russell is survived by his mother, Sandra Cole; stepdad Ric Cole; two handsome sons, Jordan, and Mason Botkin; beautiful daughters, Jaelyn Botkin, and Jordan Coleman; sisters Tabatha Jones, and Kari Kay Cole; stepbrother, Nathan Cole; stepsister Erin Cole; nephews, Justin, and Trent; nieces Haley Jones and her son Chad; mothers of his children, Andrea Robinson Botkin and Ashia Davidson.
Russell is remembered by his family and friends as an incredibly happy person who worked hard, blessed to be around babies, small children, and his family. Russell was a remarkable cook and prepared special dishes for everyone.
Russell was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Austin and loved to help others and being apart of this organization.
His smile, laughter and sense of humor will be missed by everyone he met. Russell was delighted to hear stories and share his own memories with others.
Family and friends will gather at Elgin Funeral Home for visitation, Thursday, July 1st from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Home-Going Celebration will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home, Friday, July 2nd at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lawhon Springs Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the many friends and associates who assisted us with kindness, delicious foods, and patience as we go through this sad time.
