Lifes ReflectionThe battle is over, I have fought a good fight, and the victory is finally won. No more suffering and pain, I have much more to gain. I heard the heavenly angelic choir singing as it drew near the hour. When the pearly gates open, I could seeMrs. Rubbie Nell Cook McCray was the first born to Willie Cook, Jr. and Luella McCullough Cook in Elgin, Texas on August 2, 1954. Rubbie grew up in Elgin and attended Booker T. Washington High School and was baptized at an early age at Lakeview Baptist Church.Rubbie was united in holy matrimony to Michael McCray on August 2, 1991.Rubbie Nell worked most of her life as a nurses aid at Old Crest Manor Nursing Home and worked for the environmental services at Elgin ISD. She loved to cook homemade meals for the family especially for the holidays. A few of her family favorites include her famous potato salad, turkey and dressing, chili beans with cornbread and her homemade cheese burgers. She loved listening to Blues, singing and snapping her fingers. Rubbie was somewhat of a sport fanatic who loved her Texas Longhorns. She also enjoyed watching her favorite game shows The Price is Right, Lets Make A Deal, and her long time favorite soap opera The Young and the Restless. Rubbie loved coming to Elgin to visit family, eat Elgin Sausage and drink her Big Red Soda.Rubbies golden heart stopped beating on this earth June 9, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Willie Elaine Cook, her parents, and a sister, Mattie Mae Cook.Rubbie Nell leaves to celebrate and cherish her memories is her only child, a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Scott Giberson of Austin, two step sons, Michael and Marcus Ogletree three grand children: Angela, Ashley, and Scotty one great grandchild: Aribella. Her siblings include Ray Charles Cook, Sammy Cook, Jr., Raymond Isaiah Cook, Tony Wendell Cook, Annie Bell Cook, Wanda Kay Cook, Ezra James Cook, Cindy Kay Cook, and Ramona Lanell Cook, her aunt, Elois and husband Raymond Vincent, a close and dear relativefriends, Christina and Barry Harvey and Willie Williams a multitude of nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.The Battle is Over
