Rosemary Rocha Cavazos

December 1, 1965 — October 2, 2024

Austin, Texas

Rosemary Rocha Cavazos, a beloved soul of 58 years, went peacefully to be in the divine presence of Jesus and the Saints in Heaven on October 2, 2024. Rosemary was born to Manuel and Delia Rocha in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Rosemary was a kind, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A forty-year Austinite, Rosemary made it her home and raised her children in the city life of Austin. Rosemary absolutely loved her three dogs, Flower, Lola, and Chiqus; they were her babies. Her pride and joy were her grandkids, capturing enjoyment of their time, especially coloring. Rosemary's dedication was evident in her work at Popeyes for over nineteen years until her health began to fail. Her family will truly miss hearing her say, “What are you doing…” her laugh and wild sense of humor, and not to forget her famous flour tortillas.

In Rosemary’s departure lies a legacy of love and warmth that shall forever illuminate the hearts of those she touched. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Delia Rocha, a sister, Diana Rocha Rivas, and her son-in-law, Juan Antonio Mendez.

Rosemary's love for her family was boundless. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Cavazos, Sr., her children, Eddie Cavazos, Jr., Nina Cavazos, Erica (Blac) Cavazos, Fabian Ybarra, and the stepdaughter she raised, Erika (Ray) Gonzalez. Her affection and care extended to her numerous grandchildren, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Luis Jr, Adrian, Enrique (Keke), Anniah, Antoneo, Ameriah, Adaleysiah, Josuah, Jazmine, Rachel, Nathaniel, and one great-grandchild Santiago, who will always cherish her memory. She is also survived by her siblings, Delicia (Raul) Cardona, Sylvia (Juan) Trejo, Frances (Luis) Armando, Jose Rocha, Rogcho Rocha, and Erminia (David) Ferguson, and a large extended family, which includes nieces, nephews and cousins.

A time for remembrance and gathering will occur at Elgin Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12th, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
