Rosalie Sapp SwensonMarch 30, 1926 December 19, 2013Rosalie Sapp Swenson passed away peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy decline in health. She has been mercifully delivered from all the cares of this world to rest forever in the comfort of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whose good news she delighted in sharing with all who knew her and also those who didntas Rosalie never met a stranger and never missed a chance to strike up a conversation.Rosalie was born on March 30, 1926 in McDade, Texas the youngest child of Robert Ralph Sapp and Laurel Edwina Lynwood Billingsley Sapp, along with her twin sister Natalie. RosaliePetey to her Mom and Toad to everyone elsewas predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings, who included her brother and eldest sibling Kenneth Sapp Brother to his sisters and Uncle Boodie to his nieces and nephews, sisters Roberta Terry Teeder, Leah Frieda Leecy, Hilda Sapp Soulin, Natalie Stenholm Eklund Nat, and three siblings who did not survive childhood. Growing up in McDade, at the Brickyard and in Bastrop during the Great Depression and World War II years, Rosalie learned the importance of hard work and making the most of what you havelessons she passed along to all who knew her. She worked in retail in Bastrop as a young girl and later as a civilian employee at Camp Swift during the war.After graduating from Bastrop High School in 1944 and attending business school in Austin, Rosalie began working at the Texas Bureau of Vital Statistics. It was at this time that she met the love of her life on a blind date in 1946Myron Clifton Swenson of Kimbro, Texas. Rosalie and Myron married on July 12, 1946 and remained each others only loves until Myrons death in 1982, and for the rest of Rosalies life. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Michael Clifton. Rosalie and Myron spent their lives in the Kimbro and Elgin area where they were actively involved in civic activities and most especially in the work of their beloved church home, the Evangelical Free Churchfirst in Kimbro and later in Elgin. Rosalie and Myron both held many church offices and were always ready to help in any way they were needed. Rosalies passing has now granted her strongest and final wishto be reunited with Myron in the presence of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who they consistently trusted for all their needs.Rosalie is survived by her son, Michael Clifton Swenson and his devoted wife Cecilia Marie Swenson of Southlake, Texas, her granddaughter Lauren Marie Swenson of Houston, Texas, and her grandson Chad Michael Swenson of Arlington, Texas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.Rosalies family wants to express special thanks to the staffs of In Home Care and AMed Healthcare who helped and comforted her in her final days. Most of all, Michael, Lauren and Chad want to express their deepest thanks to his wife, their mother, and Rosalies daughterinlaw Cecilia Swenson, who was Rosalies primary caregiver from June until the time of her passing. Thank you, Cecilia, for making Rosalies final days as bright as they could be, and for making life so for the rest of us by shouldering so much responsibility by yourselfno one could have done better than you. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be donated to the Elgin Evangelical Free Church.
