Roland Mendez

Roland Mendez, aged 48, of Manor, Texas, departed this world on January 2, 2025. Born on February 27, 1976, in Corpus Christi to Victoria Lenor DeLosSantos and Raul Mendez Jr., Roland was a beloved partner to Stephanie Tiffany, with whom he shared over 16 years of his life, happily engaged to marry before his passing.

Roland’s spirit was one of love, laughter, and warmth. A hard worker with a distinct sense of humor, he brought joy to those around him. His love for animals mirrored the compassion he held for his family and friends. Always sporting a vibrant smile, he embraced life without fear of failure, relishing moments spent at home with his loved ones who cherished him dearly.

His passions were diverse—he delighted in playing disc golf, collecting Marvel comics and statues, and immersing himself in books through reading or listening. An avid football fan, he also enjoyed indulging in the charm of cheesy 80s and 90s movies and had a particular fondness for barbecuing.

Roland is reunited with those who departed before him, including his sister-in-law, JaNell Mendez; maternal grandparents, Willie Mae and Jose De Los Santos; paternal grandparents, Rosa and Raul Mendez Sr.; aunt, Laura Mae Perez; and uncles, Robert, Arnold De Los Santos, and Arturo Mendez.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy, including his wife, Stephanie, and their cherished son, Donovan Tiffany. Roland will also be lovingly remembered by his parents, Vicky Wagner and Raul Mendez Jr., along with his stepmother, Hilda. He is survived by his sister, Nora, and her husband, Roger Guajardo; brothers Raul III, David Neal with his wife Erica, and Eric Mendez; as well as his nieces and nephews: Miranda Guajardo, Britney and her husband Jesse Sprinkle, Meagan Mendez, Roger Guajardo Jr., Brandon Guajardo with his wife Genevie, and Gabriel Mendez; his great-nephews, Grayson Sprinkle and Brandon R. Guajardo; and a host of extended family and dear friends. Roland Mendez’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, a testament to a life filled with love, joy, and laughter.

Roland will lie in state at the Elgin Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15th, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15th from 6:00 pm until 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Roland's Life will be held at Elgin Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16th at 11:00 AM. The inurnment will be private.
