Robert Bell Sr

Robert Bob Eugene Bell, age 79, of Elgin passed away peacefully at home and went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 26, 2012. He was a devoted, caring and loving person, who will be dearly missed by everyone. Bob was born in Dora, PA to Ralph and Hilda Bell on October 8, 1933. On October 12, 1952, he married Lois and they raised 5 children together. Bob served in the US Army active for two years and Reserves for five years. He retired from U.S. Steel after 15 years of service. He was currently employed with Elgin Independent School District as a Special Education bus driver, a job he loved and enjoyed spending time with all his kids he transported during his 22 years of service. He was a very active and faithful member of the Family Worship Center.He was preceded in death by both parents, Ralph and Hilda Bell two brothers, Richard Bell and George Bell a sister, Doretha Shelley and son, Robert Bell, Jr.Bob is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lois Bell three sons, Dan Bell, Brian Bell, and Don Bell all of Elgin one daughter, Renee and husband Ronnie Jonse, Sr. of Elgin five grandchildren, Joshua Bell and Kathryn Bell of Elgin, Ronnie Jonse Jr. and Kayla Jonse of Hutto, and Cameron Jonse of Elgin one brother, Jack Bell and wife Nancy of Ohio three sisters, Gladys McIntire of Ohio, Shirley LaRiccia and husband Frank of Ohio, and Alberta Byron of Florida.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM Tuesday, January 29th. A funeral service will be held at the Family Worship Center of Elgin at 12:00 PM Wednesday, January 30th with Pastors Jerry Edmon and Irvin McCorkle officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Dan Bell, Brian Bell, Don Bell, Ronnie Jonse Jr., Joshua Bell, and Cameron Jonse honoring as Pall Bearers.
