On Saturday, May 18, 2019, the Alvarado/Gonzales family suffered a huge loss when Robert Henry Alvarado, Jr., 55, took is seat in God’s Heavenly Kingdom. He was born one of 12 children born on October 21, 1963.
Since the ‘90’s Robert struggled with numerous health issues, the family often joked how he have more lives than a cat. Robert accepted his Heavenly Father in his heart and had a true passion and calling to share the Gospel with others. When his sister Monica passed away last year, he led the family in prayer, which brought our family great comfort. He struggled with addiction over the years, however he never allowed that to define who he truly was. He was always wanting a better life for himself, fighting for many years to stay clean and spiritually well to obtain the life he wanted. Regardless of his shortcomings, he remained faithful to his Lord and Savior and finally found the True Peace he so desperately tried to find here on earth.
He is proceeded in death by grandparents, Maria and Antonio Garcia; his brother, Daniel in 2006 and his sister, Monica in 2018.
He is survived by his mother and father, Alicia Gonzales and Robert Henry Alvarado; seven brothers, Benny Garcia, Thomas Alvarado, Michael Alvarado, Joe Alvarado, Leonard Alvarado, Edward Alvarado, Ruben Garcia; two sisters, Gloria Garcia and Avelina Gonzalez; over 30 nieces and nephews, whom he loved and adored. A special thank you to nephews “Meme & Nito” for being his constant companions. The family takes great comfort today in knowing that his love and relationship with God means he is no longer suffering, he is finally well, and his soul rest in God’s glorious peace.
Family and friends will gather at Elgin Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 12:00 PM with a Celebration of Robert’s Life at 2:00 PM with Minister, Joshua Hausladen presiding. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville.
