Rev.Teddy J Thomas, 81 years old, passed from this world into Heaven on Monday, May 20, 2013. Born to William A. Bid and Hettie Thomas in Missouri Jan. 13, 1932, he spent most of his life ministering in Texas and resided in Elgin, TX with his wife of 58 years, Billie Sue Thomas.TJ attended Neosho, MO High School, Southern MO College, and Southwestern Assembly of God University. He loved golfing, fishing, and was a fan of all sports. He excelled in football and track, with records still standing in MO.He made the rank of Staff Sergeant during his four years in the Air Force, serving two years in Japan. He was the pastor of nine churches during his 59 years of ministry Sinton Assembly of God, Friendly Mission Church in Luling, TX, South Austin Pentecostal Church of God, Harvest Time Church in Austin, First Pentecostal Church of God in Joplin, MO, The Tabernacle on Chicon in Austin, Austin Revival Center, and Austin Evangelistic Center. He held numerous leadership positions with the Southwest TX District of the Pentecostal Church of God including District Superintendent, Presbyter, and District and Sectional Youth President. While ministering he worked as a heavy equipment operator and construction contractor.On September 9, 1954, he married the love of his life, Billie Sue Lott. Together they had five children, 20 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers, Frank and Norman.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Billie Sue Lott Thomas his only daughter, Sherril and husband John Pace of Elgin his four sons, Sheldon Thomas and wife Starla of Elgin Timothy Thomas and wife Suzanne of Ovilla, TX Stephen Thomas and wife Christi of Ovilla, TX Teddy, Jr. and wife Clara of Elgin 20 grandchildren, Matt Pace and wife Leah of Bastrop, Patrick Pace and wife Barbara of Lago Vista, Heath Pace and wife Malorie of Elgin, Shane, Sheridon, and Skylar Thomas all of Elgin, Dillon, Kelsey Ashton, and Garett Thomas all of Ovilla, Dalton, Beau, Brianna, Wyatt, Jake, Nikole, and Reagan Thomas all of Ovilla, Teddy Thomas, III and wife Bridget, Seth, and Ethan Thomas all of Elgin 10 greatgrandchildren, Victoria, Caitlyn, Conrad, Aiva, Haley, Kade, Madison, Makenzie, and Megan Pace, and Abby Thomas one brother, Ralph Thomas and wife Marilyn of Petaluna, CA and three sisters, Revay Brannon of Ft. Scott, KS Thelma Chestnut, Dottie and husband Bob Stratton all of Redding, CA.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, May 24th. A funeral service will be conducted at Family Worship Center of Elgin at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 25th. Interment is schedule with Military Honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas at 12:00 PM Tuesday, May 28th.
