Raul Lopez

Raul Lopez, age 56, passed away peacefully at his home in Bastrop, on Friday, March 17, 2017. He fought an heroic battle against stage IV lung cancer. Raul was born on April 14, 1960, in the beautiful city of De La Cruz Pinos located in Zacatecas, Mexico. In 1986, he immigrated to the United States, where he met his beautiful wife, Delia Resendez. In 1987, Raul was employed by the Elgin Butler Company, where he worked both faithfully and arduously for 30 years.

Preceding him in death are his brothers Felipe and Pedro Lopez, his sister Tabita Lopez, and his loving mother Mercedes Torres.

Raul Lopez is survived by his wife of 30 years, Delia Resendez Lopez; his five children, Stella Brittain, Lori Guzman, Maricela Guzman, Marta Lopez, and Raul Lopez, Jr.; his six grandchildren; his father, Jose Maria Lopez; his brothers and sister; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 21st. A Funeral services for Raul will be held at The New Generation Church of Elgin on Wednesday, March 22nd at 2:00 PM with Sandra Bennett officiating.
