Patricia Funderburgh Loughrige

Patricia Prinz Funderburgh Loughrige, 69, of Elgin, Texas, passed away early Thursday morning, surrounded by her loving family.  Pat fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.  She was born in Taylor, Texas and grew up and attended school in Elgin.  Pat attended Beauty College and went on to work at Margret’s Beauty Shop in Elgin and Pat Paynes in Austin for several years.

She married James “JD” Funderburgh, and the couple had three daughters.  JD passed away unexpectedly in a car accident.  In 1991, she started dating Tod Loughrige and they were married on June 30, 2006.  She became a stay-at-home mom and helped raise her grandchildren.  Her family was always the most important part of her life.

She will be remembered for her strength, independence, and her ability to handle anything life threw at her and always had faith that it would work out.  She loved unconditionally and strongly believed in tradition.

Pat was preceded in death by her mother, Lydia Cervanka Miller; father, Leonard Otto Prinz; baby brother Ronald Gene Prinz; and first husband, JD Funderburgh.

She is survived by her, husband, Tod Loughrige of Elgin; brother, Larry Prinz of Coupland; three daughters, Lisa Prinz Jones of St. Clair, MO, Lora Lee Funderburgh of Elgin, Jayme Funderburgh Rice of Killeen; 10 grandchildren, Leonard Cantrell, Wayne Prinz, Amy Miller, Chole Young, Dora Willis, Rebecka Jones, Charles Jones, Frankie Willis, Skylee Rice and Alana Preusse; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.  She will forever be missed and loved by many - may she finally rest in peace.

She will lie in state at Elgin Funeral Home Friday, September 30th from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at St. Peter's Church of Coupland on October 1st at 2:00 PM with Pastor Charles Stark presiding.  Interment will follow at Elgin Cemetery.  Serving with Grace and Honor as Pallbearers are:Trey Turner, Gary Gammell, Averette Manamann, Phil Decker, Tim Roberts, Mark Preuse, and Dillon Kopeckey.
