Pamela Gail Tubbs passed away at her home in Elgin, Texas on Thursday, July 23, 2015. Gail was born November 6, 1952, to Lavoy and Audrey "Jerry" Tubbs in Georgetown, Texas. Gail attended schools in Georgetown and Austin, graduating from Lanier High School in 1970. She worked for the I.B.M. Credit Union prior to beginning her career with I.B.M., where she worked as a project manager for many years until her retirement. After her retirement from I.B.M., she began working for the Edward Jones investment firm in Elgin. Throughout her life, Gail always maintained an active lifestyle and enjoyed many hobbies such as speed walking and racquetball. However, her most enduring passion was for animals - she was never without dogs and cats and she particularly loved horses. Gail was an avid horseback rider, she loved to compete in team penning and team sorting competitions. Gail was a devoted Christian and was active member of her church, Elgin Church of Christ. She often reflected on the joy and fulfillment she felt after attending church services and spending time with her church "family." Gail is preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, Robert Earl and Amy Tubbs of Georgetown and Curly and Lillian Solomon of Midland, Texas.Gail is survived by her son, Dennis White and wife, Lourdes "Mari" Vazquez of Elgin; her three grandchildren, Shelby and husband, Joshua Zissa of Yoakum, Texas, Anthony Vazquez and Janet Vazquez both of Elgin; her brother Robert "Rusty" Tubbs and wife, Retha of Elgin; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends and acquaintances. Gail was loved and will be remembered forever by all those who knew her.A Funeral Service will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30th at 9:00 AM with Brother Nuckels officiating. Interment will follow at the Jonah Cemetery.
