Owen Von Arx

June 30, 1947 — July 8, 2019

Owen Christopher Von Arx, 72, of Elgin, Texas, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, with his wife Carol, at his side.  He was born June 30, 1947, in St.  Louis, Missouri, the second eldest of 4 siblings of late Hugo and Mercedes Von Arx.  On April 16, 1966, Owen and Carol Faye Luedemann married before he left for military service.  He served honorably in the United States Army from 1966-1972.  In 1978, he and Carol settled in Elgin, Texas, where he was a staple in the community and served many, for over 28 years, as the owner and operator of Owen’s Service Center.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and his older brother, Victor Von Arx.  He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Faye; his three children, daughter Regina and husband Stephen Keltgen, son Christopher Von Arx and wife Krista, son James Von Arx and wife China; 10 grandchildren, Samantha, Taylor, Aden, Tanner, Justin, Jennifer, Ryan, Haley, Chrystin, and Ivy; and 9 great-grandchildren; his sister, Jacqueline and husband Robert Hobaugh and his brother, Sherman Von Arx and wife Amy; his sister-in-law, Judy Von Arx; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

The family wishes to thank those who were there for Owen and the family, including Debby Alley.  Owen will forever be lovingly remembered by all of us, for his commitment to his family, his lifetime of hard work, and his sharp sense of humor.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Elgin Funeral Home, on Thursday, July 18th at 6:30pm with Phillip Thomas presiding.  The family request donations be made, in Owen’s Honor to your favorite charity.
