In Loving Memory of Nigel Martin
Nigel’s journey begins in the vibrant Sonia Quarters 1900 Block. He was born to Robert Lee Martin and Thelma Lee Harris, their only child, in Alexandria, Louisiana. He attended the local schools and played all sports throughout high school. His three cousins became more than playmates; the bonds he formed with his extended family enriched his childhood and shaped the man he would become. Seeking new horizons, he made the courageous decision to move to Texas with his Aunt and cousins, where new adventures awaited him.
Nigel was united in Holy Matrimony to Tanisha Rejhan Jackson in 2010. This union was blessed with two boys.
Nigel's kindness flourished as he built a loving family of his own. He was a devoted husband, a proud father to two boys, and a cherished stepson, all of whom he adored deeply. His life was a testament to the values of love, laughter, and loyalty, encouraging everyone around him to create beautiful memories.
Nigel was a truck driver for Little Debbie’s, Miller, and Redbull… seeing the world through his front window. He had a passion for football, his team, and, of course, the New Orleans Saints. Every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday was his football time.
Remembering Nigel brings forth a wave of joyful moments—the laughter shared during family gatherings, the support he offered in times of need, and the generous spirit that defined his life. As we celebrate his legacy, let us hold onto the countless beautiful experiences and good times spent with him. To cherish his memories are his wife of fourteen years, Tanisha; his sons, Kendall Shelby, Kenjia Martin, and Kentrae Martin; two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and William Martin.
Nigel Martin will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in our hearts. His memory will live on in the stories we share and the love we carry forward.
