My Journey…
“To everything is a Season and a time to every purpose under the heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1
“A Time To Be Born”
A bouncing baby boy, Nathan Harris Ockelberry, was born on November 9, 2006, in Austin, Texas, to Sean Mitchell Harris and LaShay Dominic Ockelberry. He attended the local schools and enjoyed football and baseball. At the time of his passing, Nathan was a student at Bastrop High School in the 10th grade.
“A Time To Plant”
At an early age, Nathan accepted Christ and was baptized at Bastrop Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
“A Time to Work & Play”
Nathan had a passion for sports and enjoyed football. Nathan was known as a strong, loving young man, one who enjoyed life and loved people, especially his family, and they loved him. His radiant smile could light up any room.
“A Time To Die”
Nathan’s earthly life journey ended on October 1, 2024. He is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, L H. Ockelberry Sr.
“A Time To Weep”
To cherish Nathan’s short legacy of memories: his loving father, Sean Harris, and his devoted mother, Lashay Ockelberry, both of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Jamaya Hughes (Daniel) of Kentucky and Jakayla White-Winn of Austin, Texas; five brothers, LaDainian Merino of Bastrop, Texas, and Jason White-Winn Jr., Davion Harris, Jamil Ockelberry, and Laderion Ockelberry, all of Killeen, Texas. He will be remembered fondly by his three nieces, Zaklynn, Zerina, and Zendaya of Kentucky; his grandparents, Leland Ockelberry Jr. of Bastrop, Texas, and Patricia Houston of Austin, Texas; two great-grandmothers, Ruby Ockelberry of Bastrop, Texas, and Carolyn Houston of Smithville, Texas, and his great-grandfather, Dwight Benford of Austin, Texas. In addition, Nathan leaves behind five aunts: Lashawn, Patrice, and Patty Ockelberry of Bastrop, Texas, Khadijah Muhammad of Austin, Texas, and Isha Hillard of Manor, Texas; and nine uncles: Anthony Hubert, Leland Ockelberry III, and Leonard Ockelberry, all of Bastrop, Texas, Malik Muhammad of Austin, Texas, and Xavier, Xavis, Amiri, and Chris Hillard from Manor, Texas. He is also survived by three great-aunts, five great-uncles, a host of cousins, family, and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Nathan's spirit and loving nature will be greatly missed by all who know him.
I am young,
but strong enough to withstand anything that comes my way,
I’m old enough to stretch forth my hands to the creator and cry
‘Lord, here am I…’

Nathan,
Heaven awaits for the genuine smile you’ll bring, with your heart unchained feeling no more troubles, struggles or pain.
Many will say how they shared a hand in watching you grow, but the Lord always had a hand in plan, that’s all we need to know.
The streets knew you as K5, but you will always be known as your Mother’s child. God seen her child, with a purpose so bright, you were destined for greatness to shine in the light.
Nathan…my son, my grandson, my great grandson, my brother , my nephew , my cousin, my friend…. we all want you to know that you are deeply loved and worthy in every way; we shed soulful tears as we wanted you to stay.
You’ve been set free in the glory of our King. May you rest in peace while your soul continues to sing.
We miss you
We love you
We will remember you Forever.
