Nacaya Deoncay Matthews was a gift from God to Evangelina Alanis and Clarence Matthews, Sr. on February 21, 2002, in Austin, Texas. She grew up in Austin, attending Overton Elementary, Burnet and Manor Middle School, and Shoemaker High School. She also attended the For The People Ministry Church.

Nacaya loved to play kickball, listen to music, sing, and dance.

On August 12, 2017, God called Nacaya home to reward. Waiting in Heaven for Nacaya is her uncle, Petey Valdez; aunt, Monique Matthews; cousins, Marvinique Jones and Vernon Matthews, Jr.; paternal grandfather, Clarence Thomas and her paternal grandparents, Dorother, and Rosie Matthews.

Nacaya leaves in God’s hand to cherish her memories, her mother, Evangelina, her father, Clarence Matthews, Sr., Grandparents, Carolyn Matthews, Dorothy Lerma, and Efrain Alanis; one sister, Chloe Alanis, five brothers, Mark Jaimes, Alex Jaimes, Clarence Matthews, Jr. Jeremiah-Henny Matthews and Terrance Hood; twelve aunts, Alyssa Rodriguez, Astrid Matthews, Crystal Gloria, Elizabeth Gloria, Ferica Newkirk, Judy Gloria, Marrisa Alanis, Melissa Thomas, Natasha Woods, Norma Alanis, Shonda Brazell, and Theresa Gloria; six uncles, Bobby Alanis, Jesse Cantu, Lawrence Alexander, Orlando Alanis, Toni Rodriguez and Vernon Matthews; two nieces, Essence and Mia Jaimes, a host of other Great Aunts and Uncles, and a multitude of cousins, family and friends
