Myrtis Owens Hudson was born Feb 3,1926 in Mansfield Louisiana to her parents Johnie Lee and Jannie Russell Owen’s was called home on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, at her home in Manor, Texas. 

 Myrtis spent her early years in Orange, Texas, attending Mount Zion Baptist church under leadership of the late Pastor James Gentry. Myrtis was a faithful servant as a missionary, usher and bible study scholar. She raised 10 children, enjoyed cooking huge meals for the holidays or even a quick one for her neighbors. She loved to sit on her porch conversing with friends and family or just getting fresh air watching cars go by. She would wave and smile at everyone who passed by. If listening close enough, you would catch Myrtis singing a hymn or two. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnie Lee and Jannie Russell Owen’s; husband, Isaac Hudson; son, Lee Arthur Mitchell; five sisters, Willie Mae Raven, Alberta Johnson, Nettie Belle Henderson, Lois Crump, Jesse Belle Walker; brother, Johnnie Lee Hewitt; grandson, Ugunda Salter; great-granddaughter, JaLaiza Amerson. 

 Myrtis is survived by her nine children, Sonny Boy Hudson and wife Meli of Las Vegas, Nevada, Diana Fleming of Manor, Linda Peeples of San Diego, California, Robert Charles of San Francisco, California, Anglett Brown of Manor, Issac “Hop” Hudson of Orange, Allen Charles Hudson of Seguin, Janice Jules of Houston, Teresa and Son and law Terry Moten of San Antonio Texas; sister, Rose Shaw of Mansfield, Louisiana; and brother-in-law Leonard Raven of Beaumont; her precious grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and extended family.
