Michael Glynn Ehrhardt, 59, of Coupland, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, May 5, 2016. Michael was born the youngest of three sons to James Arwell and Dorthey Ehrhardt in Austin, Texas on August 17, 1956. Michael grew up and attended schools in Austin and Round Rock. Michael married the love of his life, Sharon in July 1980. They lived in Austin for several years until they purchased their first home in Cedar Park. They made Cedar Park their home raised they their children. When the children graduated from High School, they purchased a small ranch in Coupland, Texas. Michael began driving gravel trucks at the age of 17, and continued providing for his family in that occupation throughout his life. At the time of his passing, he was employed with McLane Southwest of Temple, TX, where he"d worked for over 26 years."In his late twenties, Michael invited Christ into his life. It was then, that Jesus began the process of picking up the broken pieces from his previous life and turning him into the man God had intended him to be. Michael and Sharon were charter members of Lost Pines Cowboy Church of Elgin.His greatest joy was found in his grandchildren " he loved spending time with them. He enjoyed his property and his cattle " he looked forward to the day he could retire and turn it into what he had always envisioned. He had a passion for classic"cars and trucks. He was a self-taught and very talented mechanic and "Mr. Fix-It." He got great satisfaction in taking care of his family and friends in this way. Michael was preceded in death by both his parents, and his step-son, James David Jones. Michael is survived by his wife of almost 36 years, Sharon; his only daughter, Tanya David of Coupland; his step-son, Matthew Jones and wife, Jill of Bryan; six granddaughters, Michaela David, Alexis, Rebecca, and Corbyn Jones, and Mekenize Thorton; one grandson, Ryan Montolvo; two brothers, James Ehrhardt and wife Stephanie of Georgetown and Roger Ehrhardt and wife Mitzi of Weir; sister-in-law, Cynthia Ayers of Los Angeles; brother-in-law, Thomas Ayers and wife Theresa of Tennessee Colony; four nephews, Teddy and Colby Ehrhardt, Kendall Richardson, and Joshua Ayers; and three nieces, Blujean Casey, Amanda and Emily Ehrhardt. The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, May 9th. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Lost Pines Cowboy Church of Elgin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 10th with Pastor Greg Long officiating. Interment will follow at the Yegua Creek Cemetery.
