Michael Bowen

Michael Wayne Bowen, 26, electrician of Elgin, passed away early Saturday morning, March 23, 2013. He was born in Austin, Texas on March 11, 1987, to Sue Kee Bowen and Floyd Bowen. Mikey loved nature and to be outdoors, either communing with the birds, squirrels, or animals he could coach into taking food from his hands. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who loved to spend time hunting everything from deer to wild hogs. If he wasnt hunting or fishing, he was always working on his Nova or hanging out with his daughter and niece or dear friends. Michael had countless friends among who were the closest are Sonny Hill, J.D. Lambert, Jeff Tinnell, Clint Majors, Brandon Bowen, Ed Hill, Forrest Friedel, Heather Church, Mandy Tinnell, Mandy Lucero, Heather Ott, Mandye Childs and he always made new friends at every party and gathering he attended. He is preceded in death by his greatgrandparents, Hollis and Minnie Harris paternal grandmother, Ruby Bowen uncle, Patrick Wayne Kee and cousin, Ricky Flores.Michael is survived by his adorable and much loved little four year old daughter, Kaitlyn Jayne Bowen both his mother and father, Sue Bowen and Floyd Bowen only sister, Cristal Bowen Robert Mendez niece, Ally Mendez nephew, Aiden Mendez maternal grandparents, Pauline and Oliver Kee of San Antonio and his little cousin, Skye Kee, of San Antonio and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews from all over Texas. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him. The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28th. A funeral service will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29th with the Reverend Joyce McCormick officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Hobbs Cemetery in Lexington, Texas with J.D. Lambert, Clint Majors, Brandon Bowen, Sonny Hill, Alexander Raabe, and Ed Hill honoring him as Pall Bearers.
