Merna Cole, 66, of Elgin, Texas passed away early Monday morning, October 5, 2015. Merna was born the daughter of Anna and Richard Palevich on August 2, 1949, in Union City, Pennsylvania. In September of 1995, while attending a birth day party for her two nieces, she met the Terry Cole. She later was quoted to say, "he"s the one and I"m gonna get "em!" Merna was a passionate person and had a huge love for those she knew. She worked many years as a care giver in the health care industry. But, her care and concern for others didn"t end there. She often bought old furniture and refurbished it with the sole intent of giving it to someone in need. She will be remembered by all for her huge heart and affection for others.She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Anna Conklin; and her son, Billy Green. She is remembered with love by her husband, Terry Cole; her daughter, Sandy Balusek, her two brothers, Ray Palevich and Leslie Conklin and wife Jackie; her sister, Inez and husband David Ward; and many nieces and nephews that loved her. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Elgin Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, October 9th with Pastor Gerald Thurman and Brother Kim Maurer presiding. Interment will follow at the McDade Cemetery.
