Melvin Stanfield

Melvin Leo Stanfield passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the age of 84. Leo was born in the Pleasant Grove Community on November 17, 1930 and resided there for most of his life. Leo served in the United States Army in the Korean War. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Adell and Ila Morgan, sister, May Dell Morgan and beloved son, Bubba Stanfield.Leo is survived by his daughters, Sue Stanfield, Ann Tumlinson and husband Randy, and Mary Lou Rollin and husband Mike grandson Andy Tumlinson and wife Stefanie, granddaughter, Katie Tumlinson Chaney and husband Chad, and grandson, Matthew Rollin.Special thanks to the staffs of the Windsor and Elgin Nursing and Rehab Centers for the wonderful care they provided Leo. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, Alzheimers Association, American Diabetes Association, or the charity of your choice. The family will receive guest Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Elgin Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Elgin Funeral Home with interment at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
