Melissa Morrow

Melissa Tennessee "Tennie" Hobbs Morrow, affectionately know by her family and grandchildren as "Nanny," was born on July 29, 1923, at her family home in Lee County, to Hosea Archie "Hode" Hobbs and Bessie Reed Barnett Hobbs. She passed away on December 28, 2015, at St. David"s Hospital in Austin at the age of 92 years. She married the love of her life, Curtis Wallace Morrow on January 17, 1942. They were married for 64 years before Curtis passed in 2006. She devoted herself to being a homemaker, mother and constant support for her Curtis. She joined the Methodist Church at an early age with her mother being a charter member of the Beaukiss Methodist Church in Beaukiss, Texas. She and Curtis were faithful members at Beaukiss until the church closed its doors in May of 2006. Tennie remained faithful in the Word every day.She has gone home to join her parents; her husband; her youngest daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Gail Morrow Ware and Les Ware; her siblings, Birdie Estelle Hobbs Morgan, Vernon Ray Hobbs, Sr., Beatrice Marie Hobbs Morgan, Beda Azalee Hobbs Smith, Harold Everett Hobbs, and Allen Presley Hobbs; and her youngest brother, Archie Lee Hobbs, who joined her and the family in Heaven just three hours afterwards. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Elaine Martin and James "Jim" Douglas Martin; her grandchildren and their spouses, Jason Barrett Martin and wife Marla, John Arthur Ware and wife Stephanie, and Jessica Cathleen Martin Gibson and husband Kelly; her great-grandchildren, Jean-Marie Victoria Martin, Conlan Sawyer Martin, J.J. Ware, Jessie Edward Ware, Kaleb Michael Ware, Anthony Douglas Yanez, Kiana Nichole Gibson, Kalista Renee Gibson, and Kelly Lavon "Tre" Gibson III. Tennie was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday, January 3rd. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Elgin Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Monday, January 4th with Pastor Randy Tumlinson officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
