Mary Ann Gustafson, 82, of Elgin passed away peacefully Sunday morning, November 1, 2015. Mary Ann was born on December 2, 1932, the only girl to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jacobson, at her home in Williamson County weighing only 3 lbs. - obviously God had plans for such a tiny baby. She was confirmed at the Free Church in Bell Community and attended Bell and Georgetown schools. She was baptized at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Lund, TX a few months before she married her husband Wilbert Gustafson. She was a beautician in Elgin, Texas for over 35 years and was loved by those she worked with as well as those she worked for. She loved being with family and close friends, caring for her husband, girls & grandchildren. She was also a fantastic baker & made the best peanut brittle & divinity candy in the world!Mary Ann was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband of 52 years, Wilbert Gustafson; and her grandson, Jarrid Wayne Brian.Mary Ann is survived by her three daughters, Joyce Riddles of Austin, Wanda Kay and husband Ronald Remmert of Elgin, Karen and husband Christian Loew of Houston; her brothers & sisters-in-laws, Johnny Jacobson and wife Ellen and Leland Jacobson and wife Mary all of Round Rock; six grandchildren, Cheri Kemnitz, Nathan Arnhamn, Kristen Tumlinson, Donavon Woolley, Cole and Ethan Calvert; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was the heart of her family and kept us all together.The family would like to extend a heartfelt "thank you" to Carolyn, Cynthia, and the staff at A-Rainbow Ridge as well as Resolution Hospice for the excellent care and love given to Mary Ann throughout the past year. Pecuniary memorials may be made in Mary Ann"s memory to A Rainbow Ridge, 111 Hogeye Road, Elgin, Texas 78621. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Ann's name may be made to A-Rainbow Ridge, Elgin, TX.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, November 5th. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Elgin Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Friday, November 6th with the Reverend, David Klumpp officiating. Interment will follow at the Elgin Cemetery.
