Mary Garza Callazo born on July 23, 1946, in Fort Collins, Colorado to Domingo and Dominga Garza. She grew up in Giddings, Texas.

Mary was united in Holy Matrimony to Rodolfo Callazo on May 7, 1966, after a short courtship beginning in late 1965.

Mary was a stay-at-home wife and mother, full filling the position for over twenty years.  After her children grew up, Mary briefly worked at Elgin Butler Brick Company and in 2001 she worked for Elgin ISD.

Mary was a very active member of Elgin Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She truly enjoyed crocheting, sewing’s with her Sew & Sew group at church, solving jigsaw and word search puzzles, visiting with family members, and attending family functions. Mary loved her God, her family and her church.

Mary was called from labor to rest on December 2, 2021. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Domingo and Dominga Garza; brothers, Michael, Patrick, and Jessie Garza; sisters Rosemary Garza, Creciscino, and Saturina Callazo, her in laws, Eddie Joe Collazo, and Irma Gonzales.

Mary leaves a priceless legacy to be cherished by her husband of 55 years, Rodolfo Callazo, Sr; two daughters Patricia and Deborah Callazo; three sons, Isaac Collazo, Sr. and his wife, Becca Madrid, Israel Callazo and his wife, Jennifer, and Rodolfo Callazo, Jr.; six grandchildren, Rudi Ceppaglia and Anthony Ceppaglia, Devin Callazo, Alanis Morse, Abigail Callazo and Gabriel Segura, Isaac Collazo, Jr., and Nathan Banta, three great – grandchildren, Nicholas and Ava Ceppaglia, Ophelia Mary Alice Segura, several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home, Thursday, December 9th, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Christian Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elgin, Friday, December 10th at 10:00 AM with Father Paul presiding. Christian Burial will follow at Elgin Latin.
