He was the only boy born to the late Eddie and Lillian Hancock. A Time To PlantMarvin Earl was raised up in South Waco, Texas, attending public schools in McLennan County, graduating from Moore High School in 1955. He was good in football and basketball, only playing in high school doing very little street ball. He accepted Christ as a teenager and was baptized at Toliver Chapel Baptist Church in Belmead, Texas. Later in his lifes journey, he moved to Austin in 1980. A Time To Play and WorkMarvin was a trucker driver by trade. He was a driver for the Pearl Beer Company and Pipe Peeks Floral Warehouse in Austin. He delivered flowers all over the state of Texas as he made his first stop at Robbies house to ensure there were fresh flowers in the house daily. He tried his hands as a cook for twelve years beginning at the Circle in Waco and continuing at Dans Hamburger on Airport Blvd. in Austin. His last cooking assignment was in Robbies kitchen and for Elgin Juneteenth. Marvin moved to Elgin in 2003, as he followed his flowers, to his special friend Robbie. Marvin was very active in the community he joined and was baptized at Pleasant Bethany Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Don Cyphers. Later, he became a chartered member of Straitgate Baptist Church where he served as an Usher greeting all with a smile until his death. Marvin was a dedicated member of the Juneteenth Organization serving as a jack of all trade. Marvin was the handyman at the Elgin Funeral Home, mastering the car wash. In all that Marvin did around and for the city of Elgin, his passion was shooting pool, as he was a member of several the local teams. A Time To Die Brother Marvin went to spend his eternal life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ on Friday evening, May 9, 2014, with his loving Elgin family and friends at his bedside. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pearline Benjamin. A Time To Weep Marvin leaves in Gods hands to cherish his memories: a special friend, Robbie Hardeman and her family his son, Marvin Hancock, Jr. of Houston, his grandson, Marvin Hancock, III and wife of El Paso, his great grandson, Marvin Hancock, IV. He also leaves his name sake Kayden Kaydy Bear Green and his mother, Dominique. Marvin also leaves a Sista, Betty Lofton a caregiver, Rhonda Baker AceKoon buddies, Paul Hawkins and Maurice Pug Scott, along with a multitude of other relatives, friends and the Straitgate Fellowship Baptist Church family.Marvin was very proud to tell the world he lived to have four generations of Marvin Hancocks Sleep well until we meet again
