Marlene R. Barlett

Marlene R. Bartlett, 78, of Austin, Texas, passed at her home on December 24, 2023. She was born on June 12, 1945, in Moline, Illinois, to the late Mr. Charles Raymond Branner and Lillian Francis Branner.

Marlene was known for her strong Lutheran faith and actively participated in several Lutheran Churches in the Austin area. She also dedicated herself to various Swedish groups and organizations.

Throughout her life, Marlene worked as an accountant, using her skills to assist numerous organizations and businesses. Her commitment to helping others was evident in her selfless contributions.

We would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Drive a Senior for being a significant presence in Marlene's life and for providing immense support during her declining health.

Being an only child, Marlene leaves no immediate family behind. However, she cherished numerous friendships, which held a special place in her heart, and neighbors who will greatly miss her.  Marlene R. Bartlett lived a meaningful life filled with faith and generosity. Her memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.

A Life Celebration Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Elgin Funeral Home. Pastor Sam Brannon will preside over the service. Inurnment will be held privately.

Marlene had a deep affection for cats throughout her life. In honor of her memory, memorial contributions can be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
