Mark Fisher

March 5, 1963 — June 20, 2022

Elgin, Texas

On Monday, June 20th 2022, Mark Edward Fisher, loving brother, husband and Pop Pop, passed away at age 59.  Mark was born in San Antonio, Tx on March 5, 1963 to Robert Edward Fisher and Dorothy Lois Hinkle Fisher.  Mark was the last born of their 7 children: Bobby, Ann, David, Barbara, Tommy and Patricia.  He would say "They saved the best for last!"  He spent his childhood in San Antonio before moving to Austin.  He grew up exploring, fishing and racing motocross. Mark started working as a carpenter at age 14 and quickly realized this is what he wanted to do professionally.  After an early escape from Anderson High School in Austin, he moved to Elgin to continue his work as a trim carpenter and cabinet builder.  Not long after, he met the love of his life, Tammy Suzanne Nejtek.  One date was all it took for Mark to realize the love and magic they had.  He confessed his love and passion and asked Tammy to marry him on that first date.  Tammy knew it to be true, and married her true love.  With this love, Mark and Tammy had 3 children: Danielle, Mathew, and a decade later decided they needed one more, Kaylee.  The family man that Mark is,sparked love in his children and gave light to 6 grandchildren who proudly call him Pop Pop.

Mark was most happy being surrounded by all of his family, with a fish on the line.  He was well known in his hometown for being loyal, sweet, always happy, and a good bull*hitter.  He loved to make everyone feel welcome, seen and was always happy to help.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 16th at 5:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 205 W. 2nd Street, Elgin, Texas.  The public is invited to attend this celebration of the life of Mark Edward Fisher.
