In Loving Memory of Madison “Madi” Sofia Woods
Madison “Madi” Sofia Woods, a spirited and vibrant soul, left this world far too soon on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the tender age of 13. Born on July 21, 2024, in Austin, Texas, she was the cherished firstborn of Karla and Matthew Woods. From her earliest years, Madi brought joy and light to those around her, making an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.
Madi was an enthusiastic student in Bastrop before her family moved to Smithville, where she flourished as a middle school student. Her love for music shone brightly as she skillfully played the trumpet in the school band. Madi's creativity extended beyond music; she found solace in art and writing, with her drawings and journals reflecting her unique talent and vivid imagination.
With a heart full of passion, Madi delighted in all genres of music, especially classic rock, metal, and the timeless sounds of country. She relished the beauty of nature, embracing outdoor adventures like hunting in South Texas and fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Family trips to South Texas held a special place in her heart, and she had a particular fondness for traveling to Mexico, where she created beautiful memories.
Madi is preceded in death by her beloved paternal grandmother, Leslie Jean Woods; great-grandparents, Yvonne “MiMi” and James Decker Sellers; maternal great-grandparents, Eulogia and Simon Segura; and her great-uncle, David Woods. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her devoted parents, Karla and Matthew Woods; her beloved sister and best friend, Kimberly Woods; her paternal grandfather, Kenny Woods; and her maternal grandparents, Mateo and Yolanda Segura, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.
Though Madi's time with us was all too brief, the love and joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her will be carried on in their hearts forever. Her spirit continues to inspire, and her memory will remain a treasured part of her family's journey through life.
