MC Gildon, 68, retired State Workforce Maintenance man of Manor, went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday morning, February 26, 2013. MC was born on June 7, 1944 in Bastrop County to Clarence and Manda Gildon and attended the Gravel Hill School. He united with the Union Lee Missionary Baptist Church of Manor and received Christ as his savior at an early age under the leadership of the Reverend, J. D. Cleveland. He had a lifelong career with the Texas Workforce Commission for over thirty years. MC enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hunting, and had a love for animals. He was truly a benevolent man, who loved to talk with people and help in any capacity he could. MC was humble and thankful for everything God provided in this life. Before he became ill, he would visit the sick and elderly and bring get well packages filled with fruits and goodies.MC is proceeded in death by both his parents his wife Bernice Dunn and daughter Rochell Porter.He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Kevin McClary of Hutto brothers and sisters, Alfred Gildon and wife Dorothy of Austin, James Gildon of Elgin, Clarence Gildon of Manor, Rosie Jones of Webberville, Clara Henson of Austin, Charles Gildon and wife Marcella of Webberville, Willie Gildon of Austin, Robert Gildon of Manor, Bettie Jones of Webberville, and Emma Gildon of Manor and a host of nieces and nephews, and their families, as well as an abounding number of dear friends.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, March 8th. A Home Going Celebration will be conducted at the Union Lee Missionary Baptist Church of Manor at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 9th with the Reverend, Randolph Cleveland officiating. Interment will follow at the J.J. Manor Cemetery, Webberville, Texas.
