Lurlene Wilson Constance, 92, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021. Lurelene was born on June 6, 1928 in Lexington, Kentucky to Lonnie Rivers Wilson and Katherine Atkerson. She did a lot of living between the dash. She had two brothers growing up, Leroy and Lonnie Jr.
She held full-time jobs out of high school and all the way into her late 70’s. She worked at Gunton Corporation as an area representative for Pella Windows. She maintained a 20-year marriage and raised three stepsons: Eric Constance and John Constance of Mansfield, and Mark Constance of Medina, Ohio. She kept up with many cousins through the years; they enjoyed many special family reunions together. A woman of faith, Lurlene loved God and was an active member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Mansfield. She served as the acting treasurer for many years and was a member of the Priscilla Circle at her church. Additionally, she was a member of social groups such as the Waterford Society, R.S. Prussia, and Renaissance. Lurlene was also a collector of beautiful things that she proudly displayed in her home.
Lurlene is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lonnie Jr. She is survived by her brother Leroy (Shirley) Wilson of Elgin, Texas. She will be remembered by her niece, nephews, stepsons, cousins, and all their families.
The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, OH 44902. A service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Jenny Whitmore officiating. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to have served the family.
