Luisa Sanchez

Luisa Mendez Sanchez, age 88, of Elgin, Texas passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Elgin, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She married the love of her life, Juan Sanchez, in 1953 and they had six children: John, Ernest, Connie, Clem, Rita and Eddy. Luisa worked at a local nursing home and at The University of Texas for a short time, but her primary career was a homemaker where she cared for her family. Luisa was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was an untiring servant of God who was generous with her time, talent and treasure. Her kind and gentle presence will be missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Juan Sanchez parents, Evaristo and Hilaria Mendez and three sisters, Susie Pea, Katherine Dominguez and Janie Ferrales.
