Lorenzo Marciel

Lorenzo Hernandez Marciel, Jr., 77, of Manor, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Friday, February 5, 2021.  Lorenzo was born in Austin, Texas, to Lorenzo, Sr. and Rita Marciel, on July 6, 1943.  Lorenzo grew up and attended school in Manor.  After school, he joined the United States Army, where he served honorably during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by parents and four siblings.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dolores G. Marciel; his only son, Jim Marciel; his four sisters, Nellie Reyes, Olivia Kleidon, Stella Matlock, Mary Marciel; his two brothers, Robert Marciel and Rudy Marciel; his special great-grand niece, Ceri Amador; as well as numerous extended family and dear friends.
Honoring with grace as Pall bearers are: Frank Reyes, Daniel Reyes, Roy Gonzales, Jr., Tony Marciel, Jr., Michael Marciel, and Chris Macias. Honorary Pall Bearers are: Rene Macias, Lance Taylor, Robert Marciel Jr., Leon Ortega, Benny Jasso, Johnny Porras, Richard Rodriguez, Bobby Lara, Joe Arrendo and Carlos Velasquez.

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home, Monday, February 8th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.  Celebration of Christian Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Manor, Tuesday, February 9th at 10:00 AM with Father Bradford Hernandez Arriaga presiding.  Christian Burial will follow at Manor Cemetery.
