Lily Fields

Lily Lois Fields, 88, of Georgetown, formerly of Elgin passed from this life Friday morning, January 20, 2012. She was born to Hilda and Richard Lehman on November 24, 1923. Lily was raised on her parent39s farm in Elgin and graduated from Elgin High School in 1941. She attended Southwest Texas Teachers College in San Marcos until she met the love of her life, Stewart D. Wade. They married in 1943 and traveled the world with the U.S. Army, then retiring back to Elgin in 1960. She worked in Accounting fields throughout their marriage first, as civilian military on the post and then, with The University of Texas in Austin. After Stuart passed away in 1969, she met and married a second wonderful man, E.O. 39Doc39 Fields in 1974. They lived in Houston, where she worked for the Harris County Auditor39s Office until they both retired and moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1983. She and Doc spent their retirement traveling the world as civilians and thoroughly enjoyed their life together. After being widowed a second time in 1993, she stayed in the Valley until her health began to decline in 2008. She then moved to Georgetown to be closer to her son and grandson.
