Leonard Rolland

Leonard Joseph Rolland, of Hutto, Texas, lost his battle with dementia on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the age of 74. Leonard was born on December 23, 1948, to Ora Bell Melancon and Lawrence Rolland Sr. in New Orleans, Louisiana. Leonard spent most of his life in New Orleans, where he attended Booker T. Washington High School. Most of his career was spent in the transportation industry, where he enjoyed meeting people along his routes. Leonard was known for making others laugh with his dry sense of humor and sarcasm. He was an avid sports fan and could be found watching a sporting event after a long day of work. When he was not cheering for the Saints, he was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Leonard was a strong pillar in his family and his presence will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Ora Bell and Lawrence Rolland Sr.; brothers, Lawrence Rolland Jr. and Wallace Rolland; and son, Leonard Locure.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Dolores Rolland, of 38 years; daughters, Crystal Locure and Jasmine Paiz (Felix); son, Terrence Rolland; brothers, James Taylor, Gary Rolland, Wilbert Baptiste, Loren Baptiste; sisters, Velma Price, Leola Rolland, Linda Rolland, Diedra Rolland, Chinwa Rolland; and grandchildren, Raven Lyons, Ashlyn Williams, Adrianne Williams, Wayne Williams III, and Alicia Paiz.

Family and friends will gather for a Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Saturday, May 27th from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.  A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM with Reverend Calvin Richard presiding.  Inurnment will be private.
