Laura Hammond

Laura Lynne Hammond, 47, of Santa Fe, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father to spread her wings on September 10th, 2016. Laura was born on June 13th, 1969 in Baytown Texas. She graduated from Texas City High school in 1987. She then attended the nursing program at the Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio Texas, where she graduated at the top of her class as a skilled LVN. She had a passion for taking care of children and the elderly. She had a love for animals, and wanted to help each one she ever saw in need.

She is proceeded in death by her grandfather, Wilbur Cottle; grandmother, Willie Maude Cottle; and father, Wendell Hammond.

She is survived by her mother, Shirley Hammond of Elgin Texas; her son, Jacob Robinson and his wife Rachel; her daughter, Amanda and her husband Brandon Scott all of Santa Fe Texas, her brother John Hammond of Austin; her three grandchildren, Jayden Kieffer, Mckenzie Robinson, and Kaysen Scott all of Santa Fe Texas; and many other dear relatives and friends. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, “NeNe,”and dear friend. She left a mark on each and every heart she ever touched, and will be missed dearly.

The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 14th. A Funeral Service will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home on Thursday, September 15th at 10:00 AM with Brother Tom Nuckels officiating. Interment will follow at the McDade Cemetery.
