Larry "Joe" Sunvison, Sr.

Larry Joe Sunvison, affectionally called 'Slow Joe', age 76 of Type, Texas passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025, at his home, with family and friends at his bedside. Joe was born on February 20, 1949, in Georgetown, Texas, to Milton, and Agnes Sunvison.

Joe was united in Holy Matrimony to Deborah Lynne Nelson on February 7, 1986, at the Bastrop County Courthouse. Joe was a plumber/pipefitter with Local Union 286 for fifty years.

In his free time, Joe enjoyed barbecue cookoffs, hunting, fishing, playing dominoes and pool, and watching Nascar, The Dallas Cowboys, and The University of Texas Longhorns.

Joe's parents, Milton, and Agnes Sunvison; his brother, Sonny Sunvison; and his sister; Margaret Yandrisovitz predeceased him.

Joe is survived by his wife of thirty – nine years, Debbie; daughter Jenny, sons Larry (Carly) and Phillip (Britten); grandchildren Hannah (Sean), Alyssa, Mckenzee, Mason, Mia, Evelynne, Chelsee; greatgrandchildren: Sebastian and CeCe; brothers Jimmy (Vivian) and Wayne; sister Kathy; sister-in-law Mabel; and a host of other good friends and family members.

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home, Thursday, April 10th from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, with a Celebration of Joe’s Life at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Type Cemetery.
