Landry Jude GrosLandry Jude Gros, 61, passed away November 23, 2014 at Seton Williamson Hospital. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 7, 1953. His family lived in Golden Meadow, later moved to the west bank of New Orleans where is grew up and began is music career and passion for playing bass. He had many nicknames. When he was young it was Rooster, later you could call him Beau for music and finally some of his friends would just call him Conway. He married his 1st love, Aggie Andras. While they were married, he traveled playing bass guitar out of Nashville, TN for many famous Artists. Later he began to play with the band the Chaparrals and travel a 4 state area. That is when he came to Texas and meets his 2nd love Nancy Barron. He moved to Texas in January 1979. They were married and over a 14 yr. marriage had 3 daughters. He then began a new career. He became a locksmith yet he never lost his passion for music. In 1989, he purchased the locksmith shop he had managed. Through life changes, he meet his 3rd love Tina Grons and they were married and had a daughter and lived in Pensacola, FL.Once again the seasons change. He moves back to Louisiana and resides in Boutte, LA. He continued to locksmith and play music. He also worked at local hardware store. But after a time he wanted yet another change. He moved back to Texas and made Elgin his home. He made a lot of new friends whom he enjoyed being with, laughing and telling his stories. He also enjoyed sing to them. He will forever be missed.He was preceded in death by father, Albert Gros mother, Louisiana Hartman Gros two brothers, Walter and Roland Gros, Brotherinlaw Gerald Richioux and nephew Troy Richioux.Landry is survived by his four daughters: Jazelle husband, Elui Venecia of Elgin, Mary husband, Jerry McHaney of Round Rock, Laura fianc David Fisher of Temple, and Sarah Gros of Pensacola FL four grandchildren: Adrian Venecia, Kaylii, Kylee and Xander Adcock. Also survived by sisters, Elizabeth Dunn of Omaha AR, Janice Richioux of Marrero, brother Al Gros of Tickfaw, LA, sisterinlaw Ramona Gros of Lockport, LA. He also had several nieces, nephews, cousin and extended family members and friends. He will missed by all.The family wishes thank Seton Hospital and especially his nurse Mericelle for their care for Landry.The family invites all friend to gather at Liberty Tree, Monday, December 1, 2014 6pm to 8pm for a remembrance of Landry. A viewing will be held, Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 9:00 AM at Youngs Prairie Cemetery with a Graveside service following at 10:00 AM.
