Kathryn Kitty Chandler Pabst, 54, passed away in the company of her husband and children on November 30, 2014 due to complications following cancer. She was born Saturday, June 11, 1960 in Kinder, Louisiana.Kitty attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles where she earned a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and then went on to receive her Masters degree in Early Childhood Development. In 1990, Kitty married James Jim Edward Pabst of Chicago and the couple moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where Kitty taught at Vera Wilsie Elementary in Newaygo. Later the family relocated to Texas where Kitty continued her career first at E.C. Mason Elementary in Alvin and finally at Bluebonnet Trail Elementary in Manor.Kitty was a gifted reading teacher with a passion for service to highneeds children, and a loving mother and wife who brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.She is preceded in death by parents, John Billy and Delia Dee Chandler and infant siblings William, Gwendolyn, and Kenneth.Kitty is survived by her husband, Jim one son Ted daughter, Anne one brother, John Chandler Pamela and honorary sister, Bonita Theriot Dennis. The family will receive guest at the Elgin Funeral Home Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A Memorial Service and potluck supper will follow at Bluebonnet Trails Elementary, 11316 Farmhaven Road, Austin, Texas 78754 at 3:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kittys life. A Memorial Service and Burial will be held in Kinder, Louisiana and will be announced at a later date.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of childrens books to the Bluebonnet Trail library. Books and contributions can be mailed ly, and checks made payable, to Bluebonnet Trail Elementary, 11316 Farmhaven Rd., Austin, TX 78754. Name plates will be available at the memorial service for contributors to complete.
