Kenan Laray Vincent

August 17, 1998 — November 28, 2024

Elgin, Texas

My Journey…

“To everything, there is a Season and a time to every purpose under the heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1

“A Time To Be Born”

A bouncing baby boy, Kenan La’Ray Vincent, was born in Austin, Texas on August 17, 1998, to Calvin “Donnell” Vincent and Twanna Gayle Williams.

“A Time To Plant”

Kenan attended the local schools of Elgin, TX. He was known as a strong, loving young man who enjoyed life and loved people, especially his family, who deeply loved him. His radiant smile could light up any room he stepped into.

“A Time to Work & Play”

Kenan had a passion for horses. You could catch him at any trail ride event where he was the life of the party. He equally enjoyed horse racing and, of course, his chickens.

“A Time To Die”

On the evening of November 28, 2024, at 9:42 PM, Thanksgiving Day, Kenan's earthly journey ended. He is preceded in death by his father, Calvin D. Vincent; grandfathers, Calvin Vincent and Douglas Franklin; great-grandmother, Katherine Vincent; and great-grandfathers, Leon Verse, J.T McFarlin and Marion Vincent.

“A Time To Weep”

Left to cherish Kenan's Legacy are his children, Kalvin and Khaza Vincent of Elgin; the mother of his children and partner, Kiana Powell of Elgin; his devoted mother, Twanna Williams of Elgin; his only sister, Sha’Qualla Franklin of Brownsville; his three brothers, Damian Milligan of Austin, Tay’shon Vincent Sr., of Austin, and Ayden Vincent, of Elgin; his "Bonus Brother," Ryan Green and wife Mikisa of Elgin. He will also be remembered and greatly missed by his grandparents, Beverly and Harold Tanksley, Janie McFarlin, Alice and Marvin Hope, and great-grandmother, Ola Mae Verse; five aunts, Eliza Franklin, Tanya Franklin, and Glorious Franklin all of Elgin, Constance Franklin of Pflugerville, and LaCarol Vincent of Bastrop; four uncles, Kevin Vincent of Elgin, Alfred Vincent of Killeen, Lincoln Tanksley, of Dallas, and Derandy Morgan and wife Tamika of Lancaster, CA; his Godmother, Tonja Verse, of Clarksville, TN; his two nieces, Rhea Green and Rayn Green of Elgin; his two nephews, Tay’Shon Vincent Jr. of Austin and Bobby Roberson III of Elgin; Kenan also leaves to cherish an inseparable group of dear friends, Ethan, Theodore "Teddy," Dekovin, Elijah, Tyron Sr., Tyron Jr., Jamie and Chris Plummer, Darick, Deandre, Brandon "B-mob," and Isaac; his four-legged brother, Bear; and a host of extended family and friends. Kenan’s spirit and loving nature will be greatly missed by all who know him.

In the words of Scootah, "Tighten Up Cowboy!"

Reunited with your father, Calvin D. Vincent.

 Fly high Kenan!
