At the young age of sixty-five, on December 15, 2022, an angel came and summoned the bright spirit of our dear mother, Karen Sue Ollis, one who was full of joy and fun. However, her perpetual light still shines bright in all of our hearts.
Karen Sue was born on November 23, 1957, to Floyd and Beverly (Harmond) Watkins in Cambridge, Ohio. She grew up with a family of girls…always having a friend, and a playmate.
Karen worked at ARA (American Radiology Associates of Austin) for over twenty years. She loved her family and enjoyed her many friends. She loved the beach, especially Port Aransas, and always looked forward to the times when family gathered for BBQ Weekend! She loved the outdoors, and was blessed with a green thumb, which allowed her to grow a little bit of just about everything in her garden and yard.
Karen was preceded in death by both her parents, Floyd Watkins and Beverly Kinsinger; and her sister, Deborah Watkins DeWalt.
Karen is survived by her three children, Lisa Ollis, James Ollis and his wife, Nikki, and Jeannie Ollis and her fiancée, Jason Newberry, ten grandchildren, two sisters, Linda Watkins, and Tina and her husband, Joseph Rodriques, a brother-in-law, William DeWalt, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family and friends will gather to Celebrate Karen's Life during a Memorial Service at Elgin Funeral Home, Thursday, December 29th at 2:00 PM.
